SUPERSTARS ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP set for 5th round of 2010, Giovanardi joins with brand-new Porsche Panamera S

After an one-month break following the last round at Hockenheim, the
SUPERSTARS SERIES is back for more powerful action at
Mugello, in the fifth round of its
ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP, scheduled for the next weekend (
July 24-25).
GIOVANARDI LEADS PORSCHE'S ASSAULT - A long awaited new contender joining the pack on the uphill Tuscan racetrack, as
N.Technology is finally ready to race its new
Porsche Panamera S, in the hands of ace
Fabrizio Giovanardi. The powerful saloon racecar from Stuttgart is set to bring the total brand toll to 9, lining-up in the series sanctioned by
ROMA FORMULA FUTURO alongside
Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Jaguar, Maserati and Mercedes.
AN EPIC CHALLENGE - The Mugello circuit will host an epic challenge between two historic names in touringcar competition like
N.Technology,
Audi, and
ROAL Motorsport, the 4-car team fielded by
Roberto Ravaglia. Many variables are expected to come into play too, as several new challengers found winning ways in the brilliant
SUPERSTARS SERIES environment.
FIGHTING FOR THE LEAD - The round at Mugello is set to display an huge battle for the top spot in standings.
Thomas Biagi is leading on one of the
ROAL Motorsport BMW M3s, while
Luigi Ferrara (who scored wins in the first round of 2010 at Monza and in the
INTERNATIONAL SERIES at Hockenheim) is following with just a 13-point gap on his
CAAL Racing Mercedes C63 AMG. Another C63 from the German manufacturer is following closely, the one fielded by
Team Romeo Ferraris for Imola's winner
Max Pigoli. Following the top-3 racers,
ROAL Motorsport's Gianni Morbidelli will try to be back in contention after winning at Vallelunga, like team-mate
Stefano Gabellini, who stormed to victory at Portimão.
NEW ENTRIES - An additional
Audi RS4 will be fielded by
Hop Mobile Audi Sport Italia for rookie
Alessandro Gabrielli, while Vallelunga's race winner
Matteo Malucelli is set to rejoin the pack after his sensational debut. He'll replace
Johnny Herbert, as happening in all the meetings valid only for the
ITALIAN SUPERSTARS CHAMPIONSHIP.
Francesco Sini will be back too, with a
Mercedes C63 AMG brought on-track by
Team Romeo Ferraris.
TV & SCHEDULE - Two, 30-minute sessions of free practice will be held on
Friday. Qualifying is set to take place between 12:20 and 12:50 on
Saturday, while the two 25-minute + 1 lap
Sunday races are scheduled for 10:10 and 15:20 CET. Coverage will be provided
live on Italian
Satellite and DTT Channel NUVOLARI.
